(TORONTO) – Hope Air is excited to announce that the unique fundraiser Give Hope Wings will be taking flight again in 2019. Building on the success of last year’s flight, Give Hope Wings – The Northwest Expedition is set to take place in June and July of 2019 with the goal of raising $250,000 and providing 1,000 flights for Canadians in financial need who must travel far from home for the medical care they need.
The Northwest Expedition will be a three-week journey, flying 12,000 kilometres across British Columbia, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Alaska. Pilots Dave McElroy, Steve Drinkwater, Ian Porter and Lise Ash will take off June 15, 2019 and fly small aircraft around the perimeter of the northwest creating a unique aerial experience, while raising money for a great cause. The journey will include some incredible experiences; flying over Nahanni National Park – a majestic location not accessible by any public roads, taking a closer look at peculiar ice hills called Pingos in the Northwest Territories, and getting an aerial view of majestic mountains and rainforests in the north that very few people are able to see.
Give Hope Wings is currently inviting volunteer flight crew members to join these pilots on their journey. Their donation to Hope Air will allow them to join this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those looking to promote their brands on the wings of the planes while supporting this important cause.
The Give Hope Wings –America’s Expedition in 2018 was an amazing success. Circumnavigating South America, the nine-week mission raised enough funds for 2,000 flights. That success inspired the launch of the Northwest Expedition that will take place this summer.
