Hope Air Granted Viceregal Patronage from Governor General of Canada

lithos_06_web.jpgHope Air is pleased to announce that it has been granted viceregal patronage from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, in support of Hope Air’s mission to provide Canadians in financial need with free travel to access medical care far from home.

“Hope Air is honoured and proud to be recognized with this prestigious distinction,” said Doug Keller-Hobson, CEO of Hope Air. “This patronage re-affirms Hope Air’s dedication to its mission and its valued position within Canada’s healthcare system”

According to the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, viceregal patronage is granted to organizations and associations that are recognized for their outstanding contributions to society. Criteria includes:
  • Having objectives that are aligned with the role and responsibilities of the Governor General;
  • Being national in scope;
  • Are governed and managed responsibly and sustainable; and
  • Have a solid record of achievement with programs implemented on an annual basis.
The Office also notes, “Viceregal patronage brings prestige to a worthy cause and a deserving organization.” Viceregal patronage brings the support of the Governor General to Hope Air’s mandate and its commitment to ensure that all Canadians have access to the medical care they need despite distance or cost of travel.
