Hope Air announces the appointment of Heather Tobin to the Board of Directors

TORONTO, May 9, 2023 – Hope Air is delighted to announce the appointment of Heather Tobin to its Board of Directors, effective May 9, 2023.

Heather joins the Board following her participation as a member of the Hope Air national advisory council over the last several years. Heather previously served on the Hope Air Board of Directors from 2015 to 2019.

Heather’s connection to Hope Air started as it does for many; her daughter was born with craniosynostosis, a condition where the bones in a baby’s skull fuse together too early and therefore can’t grow to accommodate the child’s developing brain. After having experienced this time of duress, Heather realized the accessibility she and her family experienced wasn’t the case for everyone across the country and wanted to do something about it.

Heather is Managing Director, Head of Active Investment Management, Total Fund Management at CPP Investments and brings a breadth of experience and knowledge to Hope Air, including risk-aligned investment and overall business strategy. Her roots in Newfoundland and Labrador bring valued perspective from one of Hope Air’s most active provinces.

“I’ve been involved with Hope Air since 2015 and have been incredibly impressed with the organization,” said Heather. “I’m so proud to be a part of a dedicated, passionate, and efficient organization that knows exactly what is needed to support individuals and families who have to travel at such a difficult time.”

“We are delighted to welcome Heather Tobin back to the Board of Directors ” said Mark Rubinstein, Chief Hope Officer. “Her professional experience, personal family health care journey, together with her sincere passion and longstanding commitment to the mission of Hope Air is exceptional.”
