Horizon Club, Hope Air Monthly Giving Circle

Because of donors like you, Manuel can reach the care he needs

Manuel was born with a rare condition requiring more than 10 surgeries throughout his life.

While his local hospital provides some care, specialized treatments require frequent trips from Winnipeg to SickKids in Toronto, nearly 2,000 km away from home.

For Manuel’s family, these medical journeys brought emotional and financial challenges.

When they need to travel for major surgeries, Hope Air provides flights and accommodations, helping ease the burden so they can focus on what mattered most: Manuel’s health.

“Having our travel booked and accommodation covered for the first while took a big financial and emotional strain off our shoulders.”

Today, Manuel continues to receive the specialized care he needs, thanks to Hope Air supporters.

Better Health

Gerald - Vanderhoof, British Columbia

Retired cattle rancher, Gerald’s health journey has been long and demanding. Colon cancer that metastasized to his lungs. After years of treatment and uncertainty, the path forward still includes more care and that care means travelling 880 km from Vanderhoof to Vancouver.

“Hope Air is important to Candians because it makes treatments available.”

Reduced Poverty

Chantale - Témiscaming, Quebec
At 54, Chantale has spent much of her life caring for others, working as a substitute teacher and daycare provider before cancer changed the course of her career. What followed was three years of chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, drug trials and surgery.

“If it wasn’t for Hope Air I would have had a huge loss of revenue.”

Stronger Communities

Robin - Fort McMurray, Alberta
Robin works in Indigenous Relations, supports local entrepreneurs and proudly serves his Métis community. Complications from a liver transplant require specialized care in Toronto, 3,000 km away. Hope Air ensures he can receive the care he needs.

“Being away means stepping back from community responsibilities. Hope Air lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.”
