For thousands of Canadians each year, air travel is an essential part of accessing medical care. Whether travelling on a commercial flight or aboard an aircraft operated by one of Hope Air’s volunteer pilots, patients depend on a network of aviation partners working behind the scenes to help them reach the care they need.

Among those partners is Pratt & Whitney Canada, an RTX business, a long-standing supporter whose contributions have helped power Hope Air’s mission for decades.

In Hope Air’s early years, patient travel looked very different than it does today. For much of the organization’s history, Hope Air relied exclusively on donated seats aboard corporate aircraft to transport patients to medical appointments and treatments. Pratt & Whitney Canada was among the early companies that stepped forward to support these efforts, helping ensure patients could access specialized care far from home.

As Hope Air evolved to meet growing demand, so did its partnership with Pratt & Whitney Canada. Since 2009, Pratt & Whitney Canada has provided financial support for Hope Air’s Volunteer Pilot Program, helping connect patients in rural, remote, and underserved communities with volunteer pilots who generously donate their time and aircraft to transport Canadians in need of medical care.

Beyond its financial support, Pratt & Whitney Canada’s impact can also be found in the aircraft that help make these journeys possible. Every day, thousands of travelers, including Hope Air patients, rely on propulsion systems and aviation technology developed by Pratt & Whitney Canada to safely reach their destinations.
