HELP SUDBURY FAMILIES REACH THE CARE THEY NEED
Last year, Hope Air provided more than $52,000 in travel support to patients from the Sudbury region. This year, meeting that need will require even greater investment.
Sudbury has always been a community that stands up for its neighbours; That’s why Cindy, a Hope Air supporter from Ontario, decided to match every dollar donated up to $50,000.

For Ainsley, getting to care means getting to Toronto
Born prematurely at Mount Sinai, she was later diagnosed with autism, ARFID, gastroparesis and chronic constipation. She needs ongoing specialized care at SickKids in Toronto, the only centre in Ontario that specializes in the type of issues she experiences.
For Ainsley’s mom, a single mother and social worker, getting her daughter to those appointments means travelling hundreds of kilometres. Ainsley cannot tolerate long car rides, and driving on busy highways is stressful for both of them. Without Hope Air, they would spend much longer on the road, with more time away from home and more nights away so Ainsley could rest between drives.
“If it wasn’t for Hope Air, I would be pulling her out of school even longer, giving us extra travel time and spending more nights away from home to give Ainsley time to rest between driving.”
Hope Air gives Ainsley and her mom a simpler way to reach the care she needs, with less disruption to school and family life.
Because Ainsley is so much more than her medical appointments. She loves competitive dancing, singing and making people smile. She deserves the chance to keep doing what she loves.
THIS ISN'T JUST AINSLEY'S STORY
Hope Air has been helping patients from Sudbury and surrounding communities reach the specialized medical care they need. We want to make sure we can continue to be there for them.
Just like everyone else, Hope Air is facing higher travel costs. Since August, fewer flight options from and to Sudbury have made air travel more expensive for patients who need to reach specialized care. A one-way ticket for one person can now cost $700–$800. For patients who need to travel repeatedly for specialist appointments, those costs add up quickly.
That’s why we’re asking the Sudbury community to raise $50,000. Your support will help ensure Hope Air can be there for your friends and neighbours when they need it most, helping them reach the medical care they need.
And with every dollar matched up to $50,000, your gift can go even further.

For Ebele, Hope Air meant being able to get home
As a single mother who was new to Canada, Ebele was already facing a lot. Then she had to travel approximately 400 kilometres from Sudbury to Toronto for her son’s surgery, specialist appointments, MRIs and therapies.
On her first trip to Toronto, Ebele didn’t have the resources to make the journey home. A SickKids social worker told her about Hope Air. “It was a great relief.”
Since then, Ebele and Ifeanyi have travelled with Hope Air six times.
“For me, Hope Air means that when my son needs to see a specialist, I can focus on getting him there instead of wondering how I will afford the journey.”
HELP MORE FAMILIES LIKE AINSLEY'S AND IFEANYI'S
A child shouldn’t have to miss school because the specialist they need is hundreds of kilometres away. A parent shouldn’t have to choose between paying for medical travel and other necessities. And where you live shouldn’t determine whether you can reach the care you need.
That’s why we’re asking the Sudbury community to come together to raise $50,000 to help local patients reach the medical care they need.
Cindy, a Hope Air supporter from Ontario, will match donations to this campaign, up to $50,000.
With your support, we can help ensure Hope Air is there for your friends and neighbours when they need it most, so no patient in the Sudbury region is left behind.

No Patient Left Behind
Hope Air helps Canadians in need overcome barriers of distance and cost to access medical care far from home. We reduce inequities in access to healthcare for some of Canada’s most vulnerable people, who live in remote, rural or underserved communities.
