Hope Air is a national charity that supports Canadians in financial need, who must travel for a healthcare appointment far from Home. Hope Air assists both patients and required caregivers with free flights, accommodations, meals and arrival airport Uber ground transportation.

Hope Air arranges medical travel support for Canadians in financial need. Our programs assist patients travelling far to reach specialty medical care. Program availability and eligibility varies based upon province of residence.

Q: What are the income eligibility requirements?

A:Income eligibility varies by province of residence. To properly assess your personal circumstances, we encourage you to apply as soon as your appointment details are confirmed and a member of the Hope Air team will review your application. Q: Who can apply?

A: Patients can apply to Hope Air for themselves, or an application can be submitted on their behalf by a family member, friend, or member of their healthcare team. Please spread the word about Hope Air so that we can assist someone in need of travel support. The travel application can be completed HERE.

Q: Does Hope Air provide travel support for patients and patient escorts?

A: Yes, Hope Air uses the term Escort as family/companion who aids the patient travelling. Hope Air provides free flights for one medically necessary escort when travelling with the patient on the same flight and are medically necessary. Escorts are supported with airline travel and hotel accommodation, sharing the same room with the patient. For more information on requirements for medical escorts, click here.
