Access to healthcare in Canada is often shaped by geography, particularly for individuals and families living in rural communities. Limited access to specialized care means many patients must travel long distances, creating financial and logistical barriers that can delay or prevent treatment.
In recognition of its commitment to strengthening communities and improving access to care, Hope Air proudly names The McCain Foundation a Hope Air Patron.
For decades, The McCain Foundation has focused on supporting the wellbeing of communities where McCain Foods employees live and work, with a strong emphasis on rural regions across Atlantic Canada, Alberta, and Manitoba. Through sustained philanthropic leadership, the Foundation has supported a wide range of initiatives addressing critical needs, including mental health, food insecurity, and community resilience.
This year marks 30 years of partnership between The McCain Foundation and Hope Air. Over that time, their support has helped make more than 60,000 travel arrangements possible for over 7,500 patients in Atlantic Canada, connecting individuals and families to the medical care they need, when and where they need it most.
By supporting Hope Air, The McCain Foundation is helping address a critical gap in rural healthcare access: the ability to reach care in the first place. Their support ensures that patients who must travel for treatment can do so without the added burden of cost, allowing them to focus on their health rather than the distance between them and the care they need.
