Access to healthcare should never depend on where you live, but for many Canadians living in small and rural communities, distance remains one of the greatest barriers to receiving the care they need. Through a shared commitment to helping communities, CAA Club Group and CEO Jay Woo have helped Hope Air ensure patients can access vital medical appointments far from home.

As Hope Air celebrates 40 years of service, we are proud to recognize CAA Club Group and Jay Woo as Hope Air Patrons, the highest distinction awarded by our charity. This honour reflects their continued generosity, leadership, and commitment to creating a more equitable healthcare system for Canadians.

For Jay Woo, supporting Hope Air’s mission is deeply personal. As a licensed pilot with empathy for people facing financial barriers, Jay immediately connected with the importance of ensuring every person has access to the care they need, regardless of their income or where they live. He first became involved with Hope Air after seeing a call for volunteer pilots to help transport Canadians from northern communities to medical appointments.

The connection to Hope Air has become deeply personal for many members of the broader CAA Club Group family, as they integrate Hope Air in many areas of the business, most notably through its long-running annual charity golf tournament. For many years, this event driven by a passionate volunteer committee has brought together partners, associates, and supporters to raise vital funds for Hope Air, contributing more than $2 million since 2017 to help patients across Canada access the medical care they need. As the years pass, the team consistently looks for new ways to support patients in need, including the newly launched Jaunt for Hope Air: a walk involving associates and brokers from four communities.

Beyond these moments of service, CAA Club Group’s support represents a continued belief in strengthening communities and helping Canadians overcome barriers when they need support most. Through our partnership, and all aspects of operation, they have lived up to the slogan Driven by Good.
