For many Canadians, accessing medical care means leaving home and travelling long distances during moments of deep uncertainty. Since 1994, the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) and its members have stood alongside Hope Air, helping ensure that patients facing these journeys are not left to navigate them alone.
As Hope Air marks its 40th anniversary, we are proud to recognize the Canadian Business Aviation Association as a Hope Air Patron, the highest distinction awarded by our charity. This honour reflects a long-standing partnership rooted in shared values and a collective commitment to ensuring that access to medical care is never limited by distance or cost.
With over 30 years of support, CBAA and its members have contributed more than $426,000 to Hope Air. Together, these contributions have helped make over 1,700 flights possible for patients and families travelling to medically necessary care during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
The strength of this partnership has long been recognized. In May 2001, Hope Air presented its President’s Award to the Canadian Business Aviation Association at the CBAA Conference, acknowledging CBAA’s leadership and early commitment to advancing equitable access to care across Canada. In 2013, Hope Air further recognized CBAA with its Outstanding Philanthropist Award, honouring the association’s continued generosity and impact in supporting patients nationwide.
A cornerstone of this partnership has been CBAA’s leadership in fundraising and awareness building. Through its annual conference and golf tournament, hosted in a different Canadian city each year, CBAA brings together members, partners, and supporters to raise critical funds for Hope Air. Additional initiatives, including raffles and on-site activations, have further strengthened the impact of these events and helped extend Hope Air’s reach.
CBAA’s support has continued through periods of rising demand and ongoing healthcare challenges. Serious illness does not pause, and this partnership has helped Hope Air respond when patients need support most. Together, CBAA and Hope Air help ensure that families are not forced to choose between accessing medical care and meeting basic needs such as food or housing.
As Hope Air celebrates 40 years of service, we thank the Canadian Business Aviation Association and its members for their enduring commitment to vulnerable Canadians. Together, we continue working toward a future where patients can reach the care they need, no matter where they call home.
