Give through a Donor-Advised Mutual Fund (DAF) in Canada

If you already support Hope Air — or are considering a gift — a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a flexible way for Canadian to direct charitable giving. For donors with established DAFs, or those who intend to open one, you can recommend a grant to Hope Air at any time, in the amount you choose, helping patients access the healthcare they deserve regardless of where they live.

How your gift helps patients

A gift through a DAF to Hope Air helps cover the travel and logistical costs that prevent Canadian patients from accessing healthcare, including:

  • Long-distance medical travel
  • Transportation-related expenses
  • Accommodation and support for patients and families
Your support ensures that access to care isn’t determined by postal code and that patients can focus on their health rather than the cost and logistics of reaching treatment.

What is a Donor- Advised Fund (DAF)?

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable account you’ve set up for giving.

  • It’s sometimes called a giving account or charitable fund.
  • You can recommend grants from your DAF to registered charities in Canada, like Hope Air.
  • Your fund administrator handles the administration and tax receipt.

Why Canadian donors use a DAF

Many donors choose a DAF because it offers:

  • Dedicated charitable funds: Your contribution has already been set aside for charitable purposes and can be directed to Hope Air at any time.
  • Tax advantages in Canada: You receive an official charitable tax receipt when you contribute to your DAF.
  • Flexibility: Recommend grants when it makes sense for you — today or over time.
  • Simplicity: The sponsoring organization handles administration and receipting.
  • Support for multiple causes: Give to Hope Air and other registered charities through one charitable account.
A DAF allows you to focus on impact — helping patients access medical care — not paperwork.
