Hope Air

Medical Travel Assistance

Put world-class healthcare within reach for kids like Noah.

Noah was diagnosed with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) just weeks after his premature birth. Noah’s condition required immediate and extensive medical interventions.

With the nearest specialized care at SickKids Hospital, located over 700 kilometers away, the challenge of accessing necessary treatment was daunting for his parents.

In only two years, Noah has had six surgeries and several other procedures, all in Toronto, and went to the city for follow-up appointments every two to three months.

For people who live long distances from major hospitals, accessing healthcare can be complicated, expensive, and sometimes impossible without Hope Air.

Make a gift by December 31 to DOUBLE your impact.* Because where you live should not determine if you live.
Millions of Canadians living far from specialized care are left out of our healthcare system. Hope Air provides free travel supports, ensuring everyone gets the care they need.

Last year, Hope Air travel arrangements soared to 24,988, increasing 144% over the previous year. In just the first 6 months of 2024, we delivered 25,000 travel arrangements—surpassing our total program and service delivery for ALL of 2023.

So far, every eligible travel request has been met, but immediate challenges persist in supporting patients where demand is highest and as the need continue to grow.

Your donation goes beyond immediate help, it builds stronger communities, reduces poverty, and improves health for everyone, from coast to coast.

Better Health. Reduced Poverty. Stronger Communities.

Better Health

Rob, Hope Air patient, Timmins, Ontario

“For the first time the fact that we lived in this beautiful part of the world meant we were at a disadvantage.

Flying me back and forth to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre meant I could focus on my health and recovery. Today I’m in remission.”

Reduced Poverty

Heidi, mother to Hope Air Patient Zoe, Windsor, Ontario

“We go to Sick Kids in Toronto every 10 days. It’s very costly, you’re wearing down your vehicle and between the cost of hotels and fuel it quickly adds up.

Without Hope Air, that is what we would have had to do to save our child’s life.”

Stronger Communities

Ihab, father to Hope Air patient Victor, Charlottetown, PEI

“My son needed treatment, but I didn’t know how we would get there. If I miss work for one day I cannot pay the rent.

Thanks to Hope Air, we could see the specialist Victor needed. It was a great relief.”
