Medical Travel Assistance

Stronger communities—today! Come on board, Newfoundland and Labrador

Help meet a growing demand for healthcare access in Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada.
Brothers Logan and Jayden were diagnosed with an extremely rare immune system disorder in 2012, Logan was only 1 year old then. They needed specialized care that wasn’t available in their hometown of St. John’s. They had no way of accessing that care in Toronto without their whole family moving away from their support system.

Thanks to Hope Air supporters, Logan and Jayden continue to access their vital medical appointments together, while staying connected to their community and still living at home in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Many other families across Newfoundland and Labrador face barriers of time, distance, and cost in accessing healthcare. Help us change that with your empowering donation today.

No patient left behind

Inequality in healthcare access is a major problem affecting communities from coast to coast and the need for Hope Air’s services has never been greater.
In Newfoundland and Labrador last year, we fulfilled 751 travel arrangements, helping to meet the health needs of 118 patients. This year, we have already fulfilled 998 travel arrangements for 163 patients, and we expect the demand will continue to grow. We want to do everything we can to meet the growing need, and your support can help in a big way.

Come on board! Donate today to help people in communities like yours across Newfoundland and Labrador and throughout Canada access vital healthcare, no matter the distance. Together, we can support better health and stronger communities by making sure no patient gets left behind.

Make hope take flight

Better Health. Reduced Poverty. Stronger Communities.

Better Health

“When I think about Hope Air and what they’ve done, I just get a feeling that people are good and there are people out there when you’re struggling who are more than willing to help. It’s probably saved my life.” – Tammy, Hope Air patient, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador

Reduced Poverty

“I would have done anything it took to get Christian to treatment in Ontario—even go into debt. But Hope Air made it possible for me to focus on his health instead of worrying about travel arrangements.” – Tiffany, mother to Hope Air patient, Christian, Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador

Stronger Communities

“We would have had to move to Toronto without support from our friends and family. It really helped our mental health and well-being to have our support system close at home in St. John’s.” – Cindy, mother to Hope Air patients Jayden and Logan, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador
