Ever since she was a teen, Trina has been interested in becoming a living organ donor. A few years ago, she learned more and took the steps to sign up. Before long, she was called to begin the process
of organ donation, which would require her to travel from Tignish to Toronto. As a single mother, she wasn’t sure at first how she would be able to afford the trip from PEI to Ontario for her liver donation surgery that would save someone’s life. Then, she found out about Hope Air.
Thanks to Hope Air supporters, Trina was able to travel with a companion to Toronto without facing financial barriers. It allowed her to make a profound difference to someone when they needed it most.

Inequality in healthcare access is a major problem affecting communities from coast to coast and the need for Hope Air’s services has never been greater.
In PEI last year, we fulfilled 983 travel arrangements, helping to meet the health needs of 935 patients. As of September 1st, this year, we have already fulfilled 2,534 travel arrangements for 570
PEI’s patients, and the demand continues to grow. We want to do everything we can to meet the growing need, and your support can help in a big way.
