There for the Long Journey, Not Just One Flight

As Hope Air marks 40 years of connecting patients to care, stories like Jayden and Logan’s reflect what that commitment truly means. In 2012, brothers Jayden and Logan began flying with Hope Air after being diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), an extremely rare immune disorder.

For more than 12 years, we’ve supported their family’s travel from St. John’s to SickKids Hospital for specialized care. What began with emergency hospital stays, isolation, and a life-saving bone marrow transplant has become a long-term journey of follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment.

Now 17 and 15, Jayden and Logan have taken 22 trips with Hope Air, representing significant cost savings for their family during years when their parents had to step away from work to care for their sons. Those flights also meant they could remain at home in St. John’s, surrounded by their support system, while still accessing the care they needed.

For four decades, we’ve been there not just for a single flight, but for the long journeys, ensuring families can focus on their children’s health instead of the cost of travel.
