Hope Air

Medical Travel Assistance

Help ensure no patient is left behind.

The need to access vital medical care is outpacing donations.

The number of travel arrangements to access lifesaving medical care has increased by over 91% since 2021 and is rapidly growing. Your support will help all Canadians in need get direct and timely access to vital healthcare, without needing to postpone, cancel, drive upwards of 16 hours each-way to receive, or go into unmanageable personal debt to secure.

The need has never been greater

Accelerated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, our health care system is facing unprecedented stress.
  • Hospitals and medical clinics struggle to provide timely access to care
  • Cancellation and rescheduling of appointments, and long waitlists for medical procedures, are a common reality
  • Significant inflation and cost of living increases are straining low-income Canadians
After a dramatic 51% increase in total travel arrangements from 2021 to 2022, travel has increased every month in 2023 compared to the same period last year. By 2025, or sooner, we project to serve more than 18,000 travel arrangements per year.

Donations are not keeping pace

Your support is needed to ensure that no patient is left behind — so that we can say yes to everyone in need. We need to raise at least $350,000 more this year to keep pace.

“Without Hope Air, I’d have to borrow money, and I’d probably have to skip some of my appointments. It would have been really difficult for me. I would like to encourage everybody to donate to Hope Air because it’s a great cause and people like me, we need you. We need your help.”

We acknowledge that we live and work on the unceded, traditional territories of many Indigenous peoples. We are grateful for the privilege of being on lands that these peoples have nurtured since time immemorial.
